Anyone have any idea of what this maybe? I want to say hydrangea but the leaves don't look quite right. Located near Battery Park in San Francisco.

Hi Mila,

I'm pretty sure that is lavatera, which is a genus of about 25 species in the Malvaceae or mallows family. Lavatera is also known as "tree mallows." As to which species or cultivar that is I can't be sure. Some are native to your area.
